Brittany Murphy LCSW, LCDC has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston and BSBA from Drexel University. Brittany specializes in evidenced-based treatments including: Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Brittany has previous work experience across the various levels of mental health care. Presently, Brittany is employed as an adult intensive outpatient therapist in Denver, Colorado providing group and individual therapy. Prior to moving to Denver, Brittany worked as a therapist at a residential program in Houston, Texas providing interventions to teens and their families around mental and behavioral health and substance use issues. Brittany also worked for two years at a psychiatric hospital providing both outpatient and inpatient services to both teens and adults. Brittany is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor through the state of Texas. In her practice, she often incorporates developmental trauma approaches and shame and vulnerability education. She has experience with individual therapy, family therapy and leading education groups across varied populations.
Through her RO-DBT practice, she treats chronic anxiety and chronic depression and overcontrolled personality disorders such as OCPD, Avoidant PD, Dependent PD, and Paranoid PD. She also enjoys practicing in the treatment of addiction and substance use disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, complex-trauma, eating disorders, and neurodivergence related concerns
Brittany is currently accepting telehealth clients located in Colorado and Texas. Additionally, Brittany is in the process of opening in-person availability, once a week, in Denver, CO.
